Yamaha Motor Canada has introduced the 2027 WR450F with major changes to its engine, chassis, suspension, clutch and braking package, while the WR250F returns with updated graphics and cosmetic refinements.
The Canadian 2027 WR450F is listed from $13,949, including $950 in freight and PDI, on Yamaha Motor Canada’s current product page.
A new hydraulic clutch leads the update
One of the most visible changes for 2027 is a new compact hydraulic clutch.
Yamaha says the system is designed to provide lighter lever effort, smooth engagement and a consistent engagement point without the cable adjustments associated with a conventional clutch.
For technical off-road riding, clutch feel matters because riders often use the lever repeatedly at low speed to control traction and engine response.
The revised clutch therefore affects more than convenience. It is part of Yamaha’s effort to make the WR450F easier to manage in tight enduro terrain.
Engine changes target controllable power
The 450 cc four-stroke has also been revised.
Yamaha’s Canadian launch material describes changes to the intake port and cam timing aimed at smoother, more controllable low- and mid-range power. Increased magneto inertia is intended to improve low-speed feel and resistance to stalling.
The objective is not simply a larger peak number.
An enduro motorcycle has to work across slow technical sections, roots, rocks and faster open terrain. Predictable response can be more useful than an abrupt hit when traction is limited.
Frame and suspension are revised
The 2027 WR450F uses a new aluminum bilateral-beam frame with revised rigidity and flex characteristics.
Yamaha also lists new rear suspension, revised KYB settings and a hand-adjustable low-speed compression control.
A 51-tooth rear sprocket replaces the previous 50-tooth setup, another change intended to alter responsiveness in off-road conditions.
The official Canadian product page also lists a new lightweight rear brake assembly and an optimized magneto rotor.
Electronics remain a major part of the package
The Yamaha Power Tuner App continues for 2027.
The WR450F includes three-level traction control selectable through the app, along with an ECU lock function that requires a password to help prevent unauthorized engine starting.
Yamaha says ECU settings are tailored to cross-country and enduro competition, and racing customers can access additional tuning and launch-control functions through an available Competition Kit.
Canadian pricing is already published
Yamaha Motor Canada currently lists the 2027 WR450F at a starting price of $13,949, including $950 freight and PDI.
That is useful because it gives Canadian riders a domestic reference rather than requiring a conversion from a U.S. MSRP.
Taxes, licensing, dealer-installed accessories and other transaction-specific charges can still affect the final price.
Availability should be confirmed with a Canadian Yamaha dealer because inventory can vary by region.
The WR250F takes a lighter update
The 2027 WR250F does not receive the same major redesign.
Yamaha says the smaller-displacement enduro model returns with competition-inspired graphics and cosmetic refinements, continuing with its 250 cc four-stroke and wide-ratio six-speed transmission.
That creates a clear split in the 2027 WR range: the 450 receives the substantive mechanical update, while the 250 carries forward its established platform.
