Rocky Mountain Motorsports Cancels Saturday Hail Mary Track Day

Rocky Mountain Motorsports has cancelled the HardNoX Track Dayz Hail Mary event scheduled for Saturday, October 10. The circuit’s live calendar now labels the motorcycle program as cancelled, rather than postponed, and also marks the member lapping session planned for Sunday, October 11 as cancelled. Riders, guests and service providers should therefore treat the weekend program as off and avoid travelling to the Mountain View County facility unless they have separate confirmation for another booking.

The operating change

The Hail Mary event had been listed for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the 3.5-kilometre circuit north of Calgary. HardNoX events normally divide riders into skill-based sessions, from experienced racers to intermediate and developing track riders. That structure makes a cancellation relevant to more than a single race grid: it affects riders who may have prepared motorcycles, tires, fuel, transport and safety equipment for a full day of controlled circuit use.

The official venue calendar is the decisive source for current operating status. It now places the word “cancelled” directly in the event title. The same calendar applies that status to Sunday’s member lapping. No replacement date is shown for either program. A cancellation is different from the one-week postponement announced for Alberta’s Turkey Gobbler arenacross, which moved to October 16–17. Riders should not assume that an entry or booking will automatically transfer to another date.

What participants should do

Anyone registered for the Hail Mary event should check the organizer’s direct communications and the terms attached to the original booking. Questions about credits, refunds or future dates belong with the organizer or venue, because the public listing confirms the cancellation but does not publish a universal remedy for every participant. Riders who booked hotels, trailers or transportation should also review those arrangements immediately.

The practical lesson is to preserve documentation. Keep the booking confirmation, payment receipt and any cancellation email together until the matter is settled. If a registration was purchased through a third-party platform, use the contact path named on that receipt. Avoid relying on reposted event graphics or older calendar captures; the venue’s current listing is the operative update.

A late-season impact

October track time is valuable in Alberta because the practical riding season can close quickly. A late cancellation removes one of the final opportunities for riders to work on braking, lines and body position in a supervised environment before motorcycles are stored for winter. It can also shift demand toward winter maintenance, tire storage, battery care and off-season training.

For dealers and independent shops, the immediate task is communication rather than speculation. Businesses that promoted the day, prepared customer bikes or planned trackside support should circulate the cancellation and confirm whether their own appointments remain necessary. A rider who no longer needs a rapid track-preparation turnaround may prefer to convert that booking into a more complete seasonal inspection.

The cancellation also reinforces the importance of current-status checks for every shoulder-season event. Weather, surface conditions, staffing and daylight can change the operating case quickly. A calendar entry may remain searchable after its status changes, so readers should look for the live title and not only the date returned by a search engine.

There is also a safety reason to respect a same-day cancellation without trying to recreate the program informally. A purpose-built track day includes marshals, medical planning, controlled run groups and operating rules that do not exist on public roads. Losing a booked circuit session is disappointing, but it is not a reason to substitute aggressive street riding or assume that private access is available.

What remains on the calendar

Rocky Mountain Motorsports continues to list later October activity, including member lapping dates, but every program should be verified independently before travel. The cancellation of this weekend’s motorcycle day does not by itself cancel the venue’s remaining season. It does mean that Saturday’s Hail Mary program and Sunday’s member session should be removed from riders’ immediate plans.

For Alberta motorcyclists, the useful bottom line is simple: the October 10 Hail Mary track day is not running, Sunday member lapping is also cancelled, and no replacement date is currently posted. Direct confirmation from the organizer is the proper next step for registration-specific questions.
